As a standalone experience or an adjunct to your weekly therapy, EMDR Intensives can fast track your growth & healing goals.

EMDR Intensives

Now Scheduling EMDR Intensives!

Sometimes, people go to therapy to have a space to be heard and validated. To have an hour each week that is dedicated to them exclusively. It feels good, and helps us grow.

Other times, people want to just feel better quickly. If that’s the case, you probably want to consider an EMDR Intensive.

EMDR intensives are a way to press the fast forward button on your healing journey. With EMDR in general, the work is done in sessions without the need for time to reflect and process between sessions. So, you can usually accomplish months or more of therapy in just 1 EMDR Intensive experience.

THE BASIC SETUP IS THIS:

First
You will have a 90 minute session 1-2 weeks before your intensive work where we will get to know each other, go over your history, and identify key life experiences (usually traumas) and beliefs that are holding you back.

Next
Your intensive will be 2 days in the same week (or 2 weeks in a row) using EMDR to clear/reprocess the identified experiences. Generally you will have 3 hours of EMDR each day (which is a lot and you will likely be very tired) with a 30-60 minute reset in the middle, on your own for a meal, a walk, a nap, grounding, or just a general breather.

Finally
2 weeks after your intensive, you will have a 55 minute follow-up to see how we did and perhaps clear out something that might be lingering and talk about future plans. During those two weeks, you will want to be observing any changes and putting yourself in situations that would have potentially been trigger situations related to what we worked on, giving you a chance to test your progress.

If desired, you will have the option to return for additional intensives if needed, to schedule a few targeted 55 minute sessions, or to continue with me for regular therapy if my schedule allows.

FAQs

What if you already have a therapist you love?

That’s great! I am happy to do just the intensive work with you and want you to have the ongoing support of your primary therapist if you need it. Also, things that might currently feel stuck in your regular therapy session, may become unstuck with EMDR and the work you do with your therapist may then start to accelerate.

Are intensives online too?

Yes, indeed.

What’s the cost?

The first 90 minute session is $250 and, ideally, will have us set up and ready to jump right in when your intensive begins. The intensive itself is $1000. And the follow-up is $150, which would also be the fee for any ongoing sessions you choose to schedule.
