ABOUT ME

Hi, I’m Jessica. I’m a Professional Clinical Counselor licensed in Ohio, Kentucky, & Florida USA.

About Me

What follows is personal because the way I practice therapy is inseparable from the way I’ve lived and healed.

Childhood trauma and loss left me with complex PTSD punctuated by intense anxiety and anger.
My own healing began when I saw my first therapist at age 22 - over 30 years ago - and it changed me.

I've been a therapist for more than 20 years and it has changed me.
Every new therapy technique or method I’ve learned has changed me.
Every client I’ve had the privilege of working with has changed me.

Over time, the way I practice has changed too.
I’m less interested in fixing or diagnosing, and more interested in helping people feel safe enough in their own bodies to let go of what they no longer need. I work best with people who are curious about themselves, aware that old patterns are running, and ready to live with more presence, ease, and intention — not by forcing change, but by allowing it.

I’m thankful that I’ve learned to be present in my life without the need to control everything - and that fear is no longer a constant companion.
That I feel peaceful, content & grateful the majority of my days.

A bit of my personal life:
I have a complex and varied family, most of whom I am very thankful for, and most of whom are thankful for me. ;)

I'm my own version of minimalist, and love simplicity and organization.
I love both the calm and beauty of wide open space and the energy and mixed messages of the city.

I dream of visiting every country in the world at least once and hiking all of the coolest trails.
I travel light and love being immersed in other cultures, learning whatever I can while I’m there.
The more wildlife I encounter the more it feels like heaven.

I’ve learned that my body & mind feel so much lighter with regular yoga, meditation, breathwork & time in nature.

For me, relaxing usually involves learning something new. These days besides psychology you would generally find me studying astrology, the science of consciousness, intuition and energy. Outside of that, I might also be organizing, creating, or beautifying something or re-watching episodes of Parks and Rec, Schitt’s Creek, or Big Bang.

If you’re curious about working with me, you can find my professional credentials and practical info on my Getting Started page.
